Maestra Elidé began playing folk music in 2008 when she was invited to be part of the folk orchestra of the Tec de Monterrey, Mty campus, under the direction of teacher Daniel Cabrera and teacher Eloy Cavazos: Raíces. Thanks to her participation in this high-performance group, she was able to learn to play different instruments such as the pre-Hispanic conch, the teponaztli, the marimba, among others; and she was also able to learn about other musical genres not only from Mexico, but from different countries. Due to her great quality of interpretation, she earned the Gerardo Maldonado Award for Best Folk Musician in 2010, and several nominations in subsequent years.

In 2011 during her academic exchange through the UANL for her Bachelor's Degree in Music at the University of New Mexico, teacher Elidé founded the Mariachi with the help of El Centro de la Raza of UNM. Years later, upon her return, but as a master's student in music, mariachi had already become an academic class in the Music Department and under the direction of maestro Robert Lucero.

While living in Albuquerque, NM, Mtra Elidé participated in several events playing the violin and singing, including events at the university itself, Opera Southwest, and private events, having the opportunity to play with various ensembles such as Mariachi Lobo and Mariachi Gran Victoria.

Mtra Elidé is currently working on a project to make mariachi material available and to be able to expand the tradition with good historical and academic foundations. This project has a launch date of late 2024.
